From our Kansas lobbyist...

The Governor has signed Kansas Senate Bill 282 which as I am certain you’ll all remember is the bill that originally scheduled Kratom under Kansas’ version of the Uniform Controlled Substances Act (Act) and certain statutes pertaining to crimes involving controlled substances. Kratom was removed from SB 282. However, as a note of interest, the bill amends the definition of “marijuana” and authorizes the sale of certain CBD (cannabidiol) products.

The provisions of the bill become law when it is published in the Kansas Register. I would estimate that the bill’s publication date will be May 24, 2018 (provided, nothing unusual happens to the bill’s journey from the governor’s office to the publication’s office, which I do not expect)."
